Minervino Murge

The city and its points of interest

Minervino Murge is located mostly within the confines of the Alta Murgia National Park and is known as “the balcony of Puglia” due to its dominant position over the Ofanto valley. In its territory a large wind farm is being built and the Locone dam is present, the second largest in Europe. The historical center is called “La Scesciola”, a term deriving from ancient Arabic, due to the intersection of its streets thus giving the idea of a labyrinth.
